This compact custom home demonstrates how the perceived size of a room can change when the view is treated as part of the interior. Full-height glazed doors face the open landscape, with clerestory windows lifting daylight toward the roof.

If your future home has a modest footprint, the first question does not have to be how to make it bigger. Ask where the horizon is, where light arrives, and which opening can remove the strongest visual boundary.

What this home makes possible

The view becomes the room’s longest dimension

A full-height opening visually continues the floor toward the landscape. Even before the interior is finished, the room feels less confined because the eye is allowed to travel well beyond the walls.

High-level glass brings light above eye level

Clerestory windows illuminate the roof volume and reduce the sense of a low enclosure. They can bring daylight into the plan while preserving usable wall area below.
